In 2004, I began to explore the art of photography.  What first started as a simple means of preserving images of my reef tanks, soon blossomed into a passion for the art of photography itself.

I began to read up on the technical aspects of photography.  Discovering what all the numbers and bars meant in the "mysterious" manual modes of digital cameras.  Very little time passed before I abandoned those preset modes and only shot using what used to be so foreign to me.  (Apparently you should read the manual!)  I quickly outgrew several point and shoot cameras, sure they have manual modes but they lack the flexibility and lens choices I wanted.  Longing for something that I could control with the knowledge I had learned.  Finally settling on a DSLR to please the control freak inside me.

Now armed with the equipment and knowledge I set off into the expanses of the photography world.  I soon learned that many "photographers" enhance their photos to the point I feel you can't so much call it a photograph, so much as computer aided graphics.  I strive to use as little computer interaction as possible.  Although, shooting with a digital camera some is necessary.  If I can't get a particular shot to turn out the way I like I examine the lighting, lens setup, etc. to tweak the shot I want in the end.  (Usually to get the lighting right I end up in the middle of nowhere way too early in the morning.)

If you are interested in hiring me to photograph some portraits or an event, feel free to email me.  I also sell prints of any of the photos on display in my gallery.

Thank you for visiting my site, and I hope you enjoy what you find here.
